Wild Edibles App Reviews

Only gripe

My only gripe is that when you add your own entries into the collection of plants the app only lets you add one tiny picture to the entry. Thats a significant problem since seeing multiple large color pics of the plants is going to be critical for identification. Does anyone know of an app that allows you to add multiple pics as well as a description and notes?

Amazing!

I dont know why there are some unsavory reviews. I love this app! It is incredibly helpful when I go hiking in the forest as well as around town. While it does not account for all the plants of the world, I have already learned more than enough to make it worth the $2.99 (hence the 5 star rating). My favorite new wild edible is "Salsify." The only non bitter relative of dandelion! I see this plant everywhere. I also appreciate the tips section of this app. They seem like common sense, but it was good to get the extra safety net. Summery: Love this app and recommend it to everyone. p.s. cant wait for the updates!

Sweet App!

WOWZA! I love this app!!!! Purslane, mallow, dandelions, stinging nettles, lambs quarters, and so many other new plants. I had no idea I had such abundance in my own backyard. Im a master master gardner of many years. Ive worked in countless conventional greenhouses and I am delighted at these sweet new additions to my daily meals. I would (and do) recommend this app to everyone!

Small pics

I have a usability issue with this app. The whole point of it is to identify wild plants, but the thumbnail images are so small that theyre barely usable. I hope on the next release that users can click on the images for a full screen view.

Needs Work

There are no look a likes to compare to and there are a lot of plants that could be mistaken out there. Some of the large pictures dont show enough detail to identify and the little thumbnail to start with, cmon. This app is quite frankly a danger,a liability and over priced.Take a class before attempting to put stuff in your mouth just by this app alone.Needs more plants and a search engine based on identifying characteristics to narrow down as well. Its peoples lives you want and should demand the best.

Best app ever

So glad I bought this app cuz now wen I get grounded from supper I can go snack on some stuff outside! Thanks!

Disappointing

Pictures are so small the app is useless to me

Awesome app

Tons of great information and pictures. Very usefull when hiking or making green smoothies. Dont believe the bad fake review posted by another competing app maker, they are just charging twice as much for their worse app.

Spring is hereā€¦ Time to use this app!

I love this app! I bought it awhile back and have definitely received a lot of bang for my buck! Its spring again in my nick of the woods so I am excited to start using it! I highly recommend it!

This app is GREAT

Ive attended a session with Serge Boutenko and it was amazing. This app is so complete. He has given us a wonderful tool.

Pictures too small

I would love it if you could click on these thumbnails to enlarge them as they are of no use identifying the plant in the tiny thumbnail size. If this could be changed, this would be a great app!

Great app, but needs a tiny intro to understand it

So I read the great reviews and the poor reviews and I was surprised at the contrast. The biggest complaint was small pictures. I thought they were right at first. Finding the larger pictures is not as intuitive as I would like, but once found, does make the app worth the $4.99 we spent. To get to the large image with poisonous red berries that appears in the "details" screen, click first on the plant description. The center part of the next screen scrolls and seems to hold the only info. BUT, the bottom scrolls as well. Drag up on the word "poisonous" (or edible if that is the plant) and several large images are below. I was almost very sad that I had purchased the app when I couldnt find large images as well. But I wasnt about to give up on Sergei and his app since I enjoyed his lecture so much. I clicked and dragged in unusual spots. This app and his book are bringing me even more fun and nutrition in foraging. I wish all who read this, wellness and peace!

Poor

Disappointing. Tiny unusable pictures. Poorly organized.
